Endowed Chairs
As the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra has grown, so has the
need to provide assurance that the music will continue for
many years to come. Toward that end, the Symphony
offers the opportunity for donors to designate significant
contributed funds for the purpose of permanently endowing a
chair or position in the Orchestra. Such endowments
can provide a way for the Orchestra to meet a portion of the
costs allocable or associated with various positions in the
Orchestra. In 1999, our podium was permanently endowed
through the establishment of The John A. & Elisabeth P.
Thompson Conductor's Chair.
More recently, two individuals have stepped forward to endow
chairs in perpetuity in the Montgomery Symphony.
During the 2005-2006 season, an anonymous donor endowed the
Principal Second Violin Chair in honor of MSO Manager Helen
Steineker. During the 2006-2007 season, long time MSO
violinist Irene Miller and her late sister, Olga Stapleton,
endowed Irene's chair in the first violin section to
celebrate the MSO's 30th Anniversary. Both chairs are
named in perpetuity and identified on the Orchestra's
Personnel Roster which appears in the MSO's Program Book.
The Symphony family is most grateful to these individuals
and invites other music lovers to join them in endowing a
chair in our Orchestra. |
