Children’s Concert

Montgomery Symphony Orchestra’s annual Children’s Concert introduces 5th-grade students from across Central Alabama to the excitement of a live symphony orchestra. Offered as a free school-day field trip, the concert combines engaging orchestral music with educational content designed to spark curiosity, deepen students’ understanding of music, and create a memorable first concert experience. For many students, it is their first opportunity to hear a full symphony orchestra perform live.

2027 Children’s Concert

The 2027 Children’s Concert features Philharmonia Fantastique: The Making of the Orchestra, an imaginative multimedia work that combines live orchestral music and animation to show students how instruments produce sound and how the different sections of an orchestra work together. Guided by a playful animated character named Sprite, students will journey inside the instruments of the orchestra while exploring connections between music, science, creativity, and teamwork. Created in collaboration with filmmakers from Pixar and Skywalker Sound, this free concert offers 5th-grade students an exciting introduction to the symphony orchestra.
