MYO Spring 2020 Rehearsals and Concert CANCELLED

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Montgomery Youth Orchestra is cancelling the remainder of the rehearsals and concert scheduled for this spring.

Students are to return their music folders on Saturday, March 28th between 10 and 10:30 am at Eastmont Baptist Church.  If the folder cannot be returned during this time, please email Orchestra Manager Robin Rawls at to make other arrangements.

The Montgomery Youth Orchestra is sponsored by the Montgomery Symphony League. With the League’s guidance and financial support, the Youth Orchestra rehearses weekly to prepare two concerts each season which are offered to the public without charge.

MYO is comprised of approximately 70 young musicians from public and private schools throughout central Alabama who have a love of classical music and a desire to improve their skills while performing in an ensemble.

Placement in the orchestra is by audition, which is held each September. For more information, click here.

Rehearsals are held each Saturday morning throughout the school year at Eastmont Baptist Church.

Montgomery Youth Orchestra Concerts are free to the public.

MYO members are eligible to apply for scholarships to encourage their musical talents. Funded by the Montgomery Symphony League, scholarships are available to help support participation at summer music camps and festivals, participate in private lessons and purchase needed instruments.
